I was not able to be with my students yesterday as I had a Professional Development day with my fellow TA's. When I walked in this morning one of my students walked up to me and gave me a hug. He followed his hug with saying, "Hi Ms. Lett, I missed you yesterday." My heart smiled and I hugged him tighter while I asked him how his day was while I was gone. We had a quick little chat and went on our way.
I hope he knows how special he is, and that he has so much potential.
He is one of the students that has earned a 'bad' reputation, but I see a spark in him that I don't see in anyone else. He has what it takes if he just makes the right decisions, and works hard.
